Joanna Bell – Director
B.Psych (Registered Psychologist), PsyBA Approved Supervisor, MAPS
I have 10 years’ experience in the corporate and non-profit sectors, working as a clinician and in management roles. My previous experience, includes being on several advisory committee’s in the community sector and managing a large psychological service for a non-profit organisation. I also have experience in delivering workshops and training for professionals working in a variety of fields. I was also fortunate to present at the International Mental Health Conference in 2014 and 2015.
I decided to open my own practice in 2015, with the vision of creating a safe, inclusive space for anyone seeking therapy. I believe that therapy is beneficial in many ways, not only for treatment of mental health diagnoses, but also for self-development and personal growth. Aside from my work, I enjoy spending time with my family, yoga, good coffee, my pets and the beach.
Katie Hammond - Director
B.Psych (Registered Psychologist), PsyBA Approved Supervisor, Assoc. MAPS
I’m a registered Psychologist with 10 years’ experience in both public and private sectors. I work with children, adolescents and adults to address issues related to trauma, attachment, behavioural difficulties, bereavement, depression and anxiety. I work within a non-judgmental framework to establish a collaborative therapeutic relationship with my clients. My approach is informed by my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy , Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Child Centred Play Therapy.
While talk is often the primary approach with adolescents and adults, I also have a play space for pre-school and school aged children (I see children from 3 years of age). In addition to direct client work, I offer parent training and consultation. I specialise in family relationships which includes individual, couples and family therapy.

I also take time in the first session to establish goals and discuss expectations of therapy.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients including a variety ages, cultures, identities and beliefs. I have experience supporting individuals with Depression, Anxiety, Behavioural Issues, Trauma, Attachment, Grief and Loss, and more. I have training in Child Centred Play Therapy and work with children from age 5.

I believe every person deserves a safe space to be heard, understood and motivated to work towards their own strengths. I strive to uphold this in my own practice in providing every client with a space to discover the cause of mental health concerns, and collaboratively working on ways to overcome these. Each client is welcomed with an open mind and my aim is to help them work towards their individual goals for therapy. While each client is encouraged to grow through therapy, I do work with an understanding that each person is unique in the way they need to be supported and the pace at which they achieve their goals. I understand that attending your first appointment may be difficult, however, my aim is to not judge, be open-minded and provide you with the best possible care in your time of need.
I work with clients from all walks of life and have a strength in working across different cultures. Some of the concerns I can assist with include anxiety, depression, bipolar, trauma, posttraumatic stress disorders, adjustment disorders, grief, as well as many more.

My main focus is for the people I work with to feel comfortable and secure while receiving high quality care and support. I have over 10 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and couples presenting with a range of issues in the private and community sectors. Each person I meet is unique and I take the time to get to know them and their own individual stories and experiences. The first session also includes establishing a clear outline so the client knows what to expect and can determine their goals for us to work towards at works at their own pace.

I strive to ensure every client feels comfortable about engaging in therapy and that they have a clear understanding of what to expect from the sessions and myself. I work in partnership with a client to achieve their goals; focusing on the cause of mental health issues rather than just treating the symptoms. I believe this helps to prevent further issues and results in long term mental health improvements. I approach every client with an open mind, understanding that everyone is different and requires a unique client-centred approach.
I have provided therapy for adolescents from 12 years of age through to adults and older adults. I have experience working with a range of presenting issues including: Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Bereavement, Interpersonal Issues, Trauma, Adjustment Issues and Chronic Conditions. Additionally, I am experienced in psychometric assessment and report writing.
